Banda Lira N. Sra. Da Estrela visits our band

Banda Lira Nossa Senhora da Estrela from Candelária, São Miguel visited the Greater Toronto Area this month and on August 11th, they stopped by our band hall.

It is always a treat to receive other bands at our home, especially those that have travelled so far and bring with them, the love and "saudades" of family and friends back in the Azores.

Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate so the band was not able to perform outside in front of the band hall as is customary. So, after a little socializing, some snacks and refreshments, the band enlightened all those in attendance with several marches from their repertoire.

On behalf of all members of the Banda Lira Portuguesa de Brampton, a great big "Thank You" goes out to the maestro, musicians, and directors of Banda Lira N. Sra. da Estrela and their families for taking the time to pay us a visit.
